1979 T PORSCHE 924 Porsche 924 Doubloon

Genuine Barn Find, being sold due to smaller premises. Very rare UK Limited Edition model believed that only 4 remain in existence out of the 50 originally made. I have seen the others and this seems to be in the best original condition by far.

ChasingCarsUk would USUALLY have the pleasure in offering this 924 Limited Edition Doubloon for sale........... On this occasion I would rather keep it and get the car restored here, but due to our new premises being rather a bit smaller than our original site, we have made the difficult decision to let someone else have the treat and get this car into the condition she very easily deserves to be in. Registered in June of 1979, not only is this car MOT and Road Tax exempt, this car is finished in a Pale Gold Metallic Paint, black polished alloy wheels and a distinctive tan/orange pinstripe interior this is one of only 50 made. Whilst there are another 3 known to be in existence, the Doubloon model was unique to the UK and only existed in right hand drive, if you see a similar car in left hand drive it isn't a Doubloon.... it will be the European comparable car - The Cork Edition. This car....... well you get a great idea of the car itself from the photo's. Yes, you are right there is a missing fuel tank and filler pipe, fret ye not, I have those to go with the car. We have attached a new battery, we have spark, she turns over and she fires up with a little bit of messing around to get fuel into the system, but obviously not for long!! She needs going through eg brakes, bushes, fuel lines and tank refitting as well as a full major service with all the bits required. Cosmetically again the car is really very clean, the photos show that. There is only one area the needs rust attention and that is the battery box in the engine compartment, the other usual suspect areas have been photo'd and are as clean as a whistle! Porsche 924 interiors have always been rather delicate and yes there are some signs of deterioration but I know a capable trimmer will be able to help get it back to where they should be. The only things we have done is make sure the engine fires and fitter 4 new tyres. After discussions with the former keeper, he had the car for about 10 years and bought it from a chap whom also had it for a good number if years. Both owners owned the car but never used it, planning to do the mechanical work to get it running again and never getting round to doing it. Looking at the minimal history stamped in the book, listening to the previous owner and also, most importantly looking at the condition of the car I have absolutely no problem stating the mileage on the odometer as more than probably accurate. You may have heard on the Martini Edition, about 14 of the 150 known of in the Uk - the two Le Mans Editions not so many early models about but plenty of the later models about - The Doubloon even rarer. With Restored Martini's going for £20k plus the £5000 price tag leaves plenty of room to keep value in the car for the next owner/restorer. Porsche 924 values are on the up too. INTERESTED? Can't do the work yourself? Well we could help you with the work required - first thing to do is get in touch and come and see happy to discuss what help you need.

ChasingCarsUK are happy to take vehicles in part exchange, and will also consider helping people sell there cars too. Not only will we sell, be we have the facilities and contacts to be able to offer restoration services too. An questions please do get in touch, here to help if I can!!
